An army that was tired, sick and outnumbered should have lost. It didn't.

On October 25, 1415, St. Crispin's Day, King Henry V of England faced a far larger French army near the village of Agincourt in northern France. Muddy ground and the skill of English longbowmen turned the battle in Henry's favor.

The victory boosted England's position in the Hundred Years' War and made Henry a legend. Nearly two centuries later, Shakespeare's Henry V turned it into one of the most famous underdog stories ever told.
